The Complete Assembly Includes:

  • Steel Centering Structure: Ensures the flagpole remains perfectly upright and centered within the sleeve.

The most common in-ground flagpole foundation sleeve is what we term the galvanized steel foundation sleeve. The flagpole sleeve is encased with concrete and filled with sand after the flagpole is installed and plumbed inside the flagpole foundation sleeve. You use wood wedges for the plumb process.

  • All flagpoles require 10% of the exposed height to be set in the ground. Example: 30' exposed height requires 3' to be set in the ground.
  • The overall length of a flagpole is always 10% longer than the exposed height ordered.
  • The diameter of the sleeve is to be at least 2" larger than the bottom or butt diameter of the flagpole. As a long-time flagpole installer, I prefer at least 3 inches of diameter clearance. You can go up to 6 inches. If you go up to 6 inches, make sure your wood wedges are wider than your clearance.
  • Made in the USA (in our shop). Our rounded and welded base plates, support plates, and centering wedges are plasma cut from 6-gauge sheet metal.
  • The galvanized steel corrugated sleeves are produced and rolled in Ohio and come in the various sizes listed below. If you need a sleeve size that is not listed or, you have special installation circumstances, please call 614-580-9631. We can help you.
  • The 6" galvanized steel foundation sleeve comes with a base plate only with a 1/2" rod welded to the center of the base plate.
  • 8" and larger diameter in ground flagpole foundation sleeves come with a base plate, support plate, and 3/4" steel rod.
  • The rod uses a set bolt welded to the bottom center of the base plate for simple removal when the rod is not needed for your installation.
